Our product NewsPoint monitors various sources of data and copies the information into a Microsoft Access or Microsoft SQL Server database for electronic publishing on information screens. Common news sources are weather information, stock quotes and of course news.
Until now the news feeds were limited to news feeds of the RSS format only but now since version 2.2.0 NewsPoint can process ATOM news feeds too.
Add a new task to NewsPoint and specify the ATOM news feed url, set the Is ATOM feed option to True and set the polling interval to e.g. 5 minutes. Now NewsPoint will scan the news feed url every 5 minutes and insert the news articles into the NewsPoint database.
The user can now use technology like DataPoint to display this news in real-time on the PowerPoint slide shows or presentations.
