Are you tired of the tedious and continual task of updating your PowerPoint slide notes with the latest data manually? Our DataPoint offers a groundbreaking solution that accelerates the process of keeping your presentations up-to-date and data-driven. With the launch of DataPoint’s new feature, you now have the power to set your slide notes automatically from a data source.
Data-Driven Presentations Redefined
In our digital age, staying current with information is more important than ever, especially when it comes to delivering presentations. The new feature in DataPoint allows the presentation to do the work for you. Imagine: You’re prepping for a crucial meeting, and your slide notes fill themselves with the latest data from your preferred data source—all in real-time.
How It Works
Using DataPoint’s dynamic linking technology, your PowerPoint presentations can now draw live data directly into your slide notes. DataPoint can connect to various databases and data feeds, ensuring that any data your company uses is always within reach. When you link a text box in your slide to a data source for visual display, you can concurrently link your notes section to the same data source—or even a different one—to include supplementary details or data interpretation.
This feature doesn’t just save you from the monotony of updating; it eliminates the risk of error that comes with manual entry. Now your speaker notes can be just as dynamic and accurate as your slides’ visual content.

Present smarter, not harder, with DataPoint.
How to update the notes of your PowerPoint slides automatically
First of all, you set up a data connection to your data. This could be an ordinary Excel file with a slide note per row. Linking to data is normal DataPoint functionality. After that, you click DataPoint, Presentation properties, and you go to the Notes tab.
There you select the connection you want to use, and from that connection, you indicate which column contains the notes for your slides.
After this is set, the slide notes will be set for you when:
- You open the presentation
- You generate a snapshot presentation
- You generate ‘Snapshot Save As’ presentations in bulk
